Auto focusing lense and manual focusing lense?

Hi guys,


a) I am planning to get an entry level DSLR nikon camera, is Nikon N60 sufficient for a start? I read in some forums N60 has limited lens for adding on, is that true?

b) I am wondering what lens produce better effects? The manual focusing lens or auto focusing lens for nikon DSLR. What is the major difference between these 2 lens? Can they fit any nikon camera?

b) My budget is $1000 for a dslr camera kit, are there any other entry models which are reccomended other than D60?

Just Nikon or you open to other brands? For a 1K budget, get the Canon 1000D. If not, look at 2nd hand models.

It is a great camera! I love it for its lightweight as well.
Lenses with no inbuilt motor cannot perform Autofocus, but will still work well in manual focus. There are many 3rd party alternatives, and Nikon is slowly revising its lens arsenal to AFS versions.

It is the same if you focus them correctly. As long as the mount is correct, it will fit any F mount camera , Nikon, or even third party Nikon mount camera bodies like Kodak and Fuji

Canon, Sony, Pentax, and the 4/3 systems / 2nd hand systems. Not too sure about their offerings, you gotta check them out. Remember to factor in other costs for extra batts , memory cards, dry cabinet etc .

and effects? telephoto lenses...fisheyes lenses...wideangle lenses.. these 'types' of lenses will give you different effects, but the only difference between manual and AF lenses is the focusing :think:

One would generally assume lense refers to a single unit. The word "lense" can sometimes be used to mean "lens", unlike "len" which just is plainly bad english. :bsmilie:

May I ask, where you saw "lense" being used? I don't see it anywhere on the threadstarter's post.
