TS, go to the classifieds for more current postings.

I just hired an n level student, waiting for ITE posting. There are jobs out there, you have to find them and please do not be choosy unless you look look as handsome as Chow Yun-Fat :bsmilie:

By chance you got any space for jobs?

just a tip man..stop saying i don't know (idk)...ticks potential employers off..i was at your age once (not too long ago!) and i pissed my ex-manager off with my indecisiveness...at your age...try the service industry man..learn how to deal with people..that's where i started

May I add to this.... you can say you don't know but add the line "I am willing to learn, can you teach me so that I can do the task"

Saying this because you are 16.... you are bound to not know a lot things... Rather you ask and learn then to keep silent like you know and when you screw up, you get blamed and seen as being unable to perform.

you know, why not you sign up with a job agency? they'll have a lot of lobangs for you

oh yes may I add... there is no such thing as a free lunch or easy money. Sad to say there are con artists and companies that make use of young people like you who are looking for a job and offer you the sky. End of the day you get nothing or worse get cheated. And many of this companies post in reputable job websites. So be careful.

Examples

1) Adverts that say you can work from home and earn a few thousand dollars. This are most likely trying to sell you some useless software and tell you that after buying it and learning it, you can earn big bucks.

2) Those that tell you that you can earn big bucks by selling something. Most likely multi level marketing where you have to first buy something then you can go sell that something to earn big bucks.

3) Those companies that tell you to go door to door to sell some funny product... trust me you are going to get rejected 99 out of 100 times.... cos the product sucks and no one will want to buy from a 16 year old kid approaching him at the coffeeshop.

Safe jobs are warehousing, clerical, service staff in hotels, restaurants, bellhop etc.

Basically there are jobs but just don't get smart and think there are "fast" roads to big money and beware those who tell you "you are smart! I know that the moment I see you... come join me and do this and that.. and you can earn xxxx amount within a month" That is what they tell everyone.....

Good luck with your job search

May I also add, please read the whole job/work contract throughly before signing on the dotted line and get a copy of the job/work contract as well.

If you don't mind retail or F&B (waitressing at restaurants/cafes), just take a walk around any major shopping malls near your house and keep your eyes open, esp. look near their entrance for postings of jobs. I often see many postings of part-time staff wanted at these shops. Just 2 days ago when I was at Parkway Parade, I saw Dome cafe and Delifrance posting part-time staff wanted notice. So just take a walk around your nearby mall and if they have a posting, you can just drop in. Don't dress too shabby but no need to wear suit also lah... just look neat and presentable.

Go to the sub-forum personal classified and be a model... :bsmilie: School holiday coming, alot of XMM also go there to be models for GWCs.
