use a damp cloth (Not too wet) to wipe the body of your DSLR and place its outside about half an hour before put it back into your dry box.For the len -use a blower to blow off any particles/dust.
This is what I did normally i am back from outing.;)

Your best bet would be to but one of those cleaning kits that contains everything you will need to keep both your lens and ur camera clean. It usually contains a lens pen, blower, cloth, some sort of liquid in a bottle.( haha sry cause i dun really know how to phrase it) and lens tissue.
Use the blower to blow off the dust on the lens. If there is still dust present, use the lens pen ( duster). Occasionally, you might want to use the liquid to clean off some really permanent dirt. Spray some liquid on the lens tissue and wipe it on the lens. After that, use a cloth to wipe away the liquid. That should be all that you need in order to keep ur camera in good condition.

what kind of blower are you talking about? Must we buy it in those camera shops? Is it a MUST?

If i am not wrong... the blower would be the black thing with blue nozzle in the image..

For one, use it to blow away bigger particles (e.g. sand) from your camera body and lens. This is done before you wipe them with cloth or lenspen. This is important especially for lens/filters if you want to minimise scratching.

Get a standalone one from the camera shops, aviod those blowers that come in an all-in-one package (e.g. lens cloth, solution, blower, etc.) as these are usually not very durable.

these things cost the least. and they are the most important.

i think u can get them under 25 bucks

Not many dSLRs have the ability to get wet, unlike the Olympus series..

i might be wrong

Normally you can use a blower come with bursh.(a few $ i think)
The purpose to wipe the camera with damp cloth is to get away
any salt content.
A lenspen will be good that i away keep its in my camera bags
this cost about $15.:D

Generally a powerful blower should blow off dust that will only show up at smaller aperture settings. It is also not recommended to always clean the sensor. Clean it with appropriate solution if dusts get irritating at smaller apertures or if you often change lens in the open under dusty or adverse conditiotns (e.g seaside or at sea).

Any decent camera shop will stock the cleaning equipment, just head down to whichever is nearer to you.

My suggestion is to forgo the all-in-one cleaning package. Get the standalone blower and also the lenspen. Should cost you slightly over $20.
