Camera soaked in water.. How?

Dropped my LX-1 into water... and it's all soaked.. GF picked it up and turn it on. Ok, it's dead and spoilt. No more warranty for sure.
How?
What should i do with it?
Can i still sell it? haha

take out your memory card. it might still be alive. The camera... I don't think anyone will take it. garang guni seems like your only hope

Did is "fizz" or "spark" when she turned it on?

If answer is no, it might be able to be saved.

one way you can try, same with my prev 3mp cheap camera.. take out the frame, dry in the sun with blowing fan. however, since you already tried to turn it on, there might be a chance that the circuits got 'kaput' with the initial electric surge from the battery..

do not turn on any more.

remove the batt and memory card

leave an an angle to let water flow out.

bring to service center for them to see.

Bury and get a new one. The circuits are already gone.

For similar incident going forward, do not switch on the equipment immediately. Let it dry out first and here may still be a chance that it will survive. Had revived my wife's hp from toilet bowl.

okie... no harm trying this method... worked on my hp before

1. remove battery and memory card
2. put into a air-tight container
3. put 2 bottle of thirsty hippo
4. seal up the container cover
5. leave in on top of cupboard for 1 week
6. open up container and see the water in the thirsty hippo
7. put back battery and try to ON the camera
