OK so now I've got tickets - where do I go? Lighting is prob a smaller issue so can use the longer lenses either a 300mm or 400mm f4-6 should be ok with iso bumped up if necc.

Surely there must be areas that can afford a chicken wire free vantage point?

Anyone?

I think I got a place to shoot. No tickets required. But need a super tele.

Need to go and out it out first.

"Cameras and Tripods
Thanks for your feedback here and again we have some positive changes to report. The restriction on lens focal length and tripods (including monopods) has been removed. However, tripods and monopods may not be used in grandstands or in locations where they may block other spectators views. All are now allowed subject to a strict personal use policy. The rights to all images belong to Formula One Management Ltd, and cannot be used for any commercial purpose without the express approval of the company. By agreeing to enter the circuit, you have agreed that the images captured are solely for your personal (amateur) use only. We reserve the right to remove any photographic/videographic equipment from the park should we feel are meant for commercial purposes"

Thanks, dude! So we can all now carry Super-duper lenses into the area. The walkabout area is pretty large. From the look on the map, walkabout tix holder cannot go to the Pit-stop and VVIP area at the start-end points. Anywhere else should be ok.

depending on wat u wanna shoot, there are a few nice locations from wat i assessed. The War memorial area is one where u can haf both direction of the track in near vincinity. I was hoping to snap some with the Esplanade as backdrop. But actual location still haf to be on-site to verify.

Let's all go and try our luck. =D

I got my walkaround vantage point... no wire or anything just a clear view and FREE!!! In fact, 70mm is just about right so can use 24-70 or 70-200, or anything at 50 - 85mm is pefect. But as many bros here like to say, "do your research." This spot is right on the track. And, if you walk around or look hard enough; wait, in fact don't look hard at all because it is obvious. :)

This one so good, I know for sure the race officials must have overlooked it. It's not in a restricted area and I promise, you guys have probably all seen this place and I will reveal it after the F1 for those that don't believe me. If you find it before the race, join me :)

I will give 3 hints, "The name of a planet, something with a lot of eyes, pinball"
If you guess those three you are well on your way. I cannot reveal the place because if i did, well, we know how a mass of csers looking for a freebie are.

happy guessing!

... and don't private message me because i will not reveal it.

This is WHAT a typical SINGAPOREAN is.....:sticktong:blah::bsmilie:

dun share never mind lor...hope he share his pic of the GREAT spot if he got it
