vignetting

hi, i have seen some cool photos when vignetting is used.
However,i cant seem to do it with my camera.

i am wondering if it can be actually be done? and if possible, how? and does the camera or lens determine whether you can do it?

also if i cannot be done by the camera, can you use programs like light room or photoshop to do it? and how?

the best way to add vignetting to a pic is through PP.
you can find it in photoshop under filter > lens correction (if i remembered correctly)...

Most people are happy of they DO NOT have any vignetting. Your wish is a bit strange in that sense. Check some lens reviews and you see how bad some lenses can behave in this regard. If you want intentional vignetting you can either use a DX lens on a FF body or use a lens hood that protrudes long enough to appear in the frame. vignetting is usually an undesirable trait.

it is better to add rather than to have it in the first place. usually lenses which are extreme would tend to have natural vignetting.. or deliberately poorly designed lenses (like lomography - i apologise if lomographers feel offended by this statement, but i'm sure you get what i mean).

why do you think vignetting is cool? it is actually an extremely overused tool by newcomers. :bsmilie:

use 2 finger to act as a lens hood to create vignetting... My gf tried once, qiute nice. haha...
