This photo is taken at my Cousin's wedding. its kinda a accidental shot. How do you guys feel about the pic? How can i improve when taking picture during such functions?

Many Thanks.:D

u deliberately made the couple out of focus to emphasis the lady in the foreground?

Is your camera set to focus on nearer object?

if the couple is your main subject, the foreground lady is distracting. Try move towards your left to emphasize more on the couple. just my imagination, if say the foreground lady is crying happy tears upon looking at the couple. it would be a good shot if you can capture her expression while including the couple too.

How do you feel about the shot? What were you trying to achieve? What is your intended message? What area do you want to improve in?

By critique corner guidelines, you are supposed to provide a write up accompanying your image for critique that answer the above four questions I asked. This will help all of us understand your image better and provide more specific critique to help you improve. :)

Thanks for the the feedback. :D

indeed i was focusing on the lady. i was trying to show the lady's happiness for the couple.

How can you tell when her back is facing you?

Oh really? But earlier you said...

...its kinda a accidental shot...

And cheguthamrin has brought across possibly the most blatant part of your statement...how do you tell the lady's happiness for the couple from the back of her head?

The aunt looks too distracting in the picture and that is why the focus shifts from the couple and the aunt. It gives me a confused feeling on which area should I focus in.

:D next time will try to find a swee swee spot to capture the expression too..

i mention its kinda accidental becos when i move to that location, i was trying to capture the couple. but i the lady popped out in my viewfinder, thus shifted my focus.

i am abit blur here, do u mean because the lady (i suppose she's either the bride's mom or groom's mom) suddenly pop into the view finder,

1) the camera auto shifted the AF point to her?

or
2) you decided to focus on her instead?

After all said. I still prefer the wedding couple to be in focus and still firmly believe that your focus point is off.

too much going on here.

the shot can probably work, but i envision a landscape orientation with the auntie in the foreground more clearly separated from the couple. it is just a matter of moving more to the left to change perspective.

Once again.. thank you everyone for the constructive comment. I'll keep shooting.. keep posting.

Shoot and shoot yes.
Do a little reflection before you post; choose one that you have self critique first; if the picture had been good in your eyes, it may not always be good in others. So more likely you;ll end up defending that picture from critiques, which defeats the pupose. If you already know there are flaws in your best piece, more likely you're ready to work on the advices given, having a clear mind.

Just sharing my experience posting here :)
