Spyder2Pro - giving me cool hues?

I borrowed Spyder2pro from my art teacher. My display seems a bit cool when compared to my camera LCD.

Would this be correct?

When I printed with my Canon IP4500, my prints were too warm. I used the printfix plus software to counter this by adding more blue (ie white-point = what color on paper) but now my prints are a bit purplish-yellow.

I'm totally out of ideas now.

Anyone?

Do I think my camera LCD is accurate... Quite so really:think:. I've printed (small 4R / 5R prints) from some shops and they look almost the same as my camera LCD, maybe the prints were just a tad bit cooler.

Here's the picture. I just recalibrated my screen again. Seems like the printer problem now =/ Excuse the fair bit of camera shake. Of course, when I take a pic of the LCD, it's going to be way cooler, but here's a comparison anyway.

My monitor shows the same colours as your print out when compared to the digital image. Most likely is that you selected a 'cool' setting for your monitor. Try the 'warm' settings. Hope that helps.

so that means the problem lies with my monitor calibration by spyder2?

Your LCD needs to need calibrated, the printer/paper/ink combination needs to be right/calibrated/proofed/blah/whatever. Its an endless cycle really.

Reset your monitor settings for Brightness & Contrast & Red Green Blue to factory settings before you begin calibration. Delete Adobe Gamma from Startup (if you happen to still have it on). Since Spyder2Pro doesnt measure Ambient Light, you have to manually reduce the default Brightness & Contrast to acceptable level (eg: 60% & 40%). Recommended settings are 2.2-6500K.

Yes I did recalibrate, and now it's slightly better, and my prints do look a lot more similar to the monitor than before, but there's still a slight yellow hue.
