the green twins

A friend started growing herbs as a hobby, using the bathroom as the 'garden'. When the bathroom window was opened, the natural light lit this cutting of thai basil to a pleasant green that caught my attention and as I approached from an angle, I saw the reflection off the glass shower screen, inspiring me to capture this image.

Other than green twins being obvious, I felt the meshing of greenery, water, glass and light evoked a fresh breath of life in me.

As much as I do like this capture, I'm sure the other creative minds out there will be able to have more inputs and ideas for me to re-work the original and/or apply it to future captures.

the green is beautiful here, because of the light. the reflection idea is great too.

but i'm not so sure about the angle. you have included the black pot in the foreground, that can be avoided by shifting to a higher perspective. also i am not quite sure about the distribution of reflection/subject here. split frames can work, but this one doesn't, at least for me.

Hey there! Thanks for the input but could you elaborate more on the above statement? I'm not quite sure what you're telling me.

As for the black pot, I was so intrigued by the center of the frame that I forgot to check all four edges before snapping, grateful that you've pointed that out.

placing the "reflection plane" on the half like how it is done here, just like how you can place horizon in the centre when you are doing perfect reflections - it can work, but here it doesn't.

Yup, agree with nightmare that the green is nice~

Besides the black pot, which is kinda distracting for me, i feel, the reflection will be even better if you wipe again those water droplets that kinda further diffuse the reflection. Not all, just those that are diffusing the reflection.

Thanks Yapster, I think I get what you mean.

Other than the black pot, the photo works for me!
I find out eye catching and pleasing to look at.

For me, I will leave the droplets as it is for contrast purpose between the reflection and actual.

You may want to remove the black pot as well as the light strip at the top which are pretty disctracting to the lovely photo.

thanks for the input, yongsak, it is much appreciated.. You read my mind on the issue of the droplets and yet Yapster's view on wiping away the droplets that affect the reflection also seems like a good idea but I guess I'd do that only if the screen is totally clean and the reflection is very sharp, which would make me want to aim for a very clean image. Nevertheless, I'm happy to have received input from you guys so far
