How many kids would you like to have?

the answer would differ from each individual and their own circumstances
so the information gathered in your poll will not be valid

Must put $ & time into consideration 1st.

Wah! This kind of question also wanna ask? Why? So can have an idea on how many you should have? :faint:

depends if u like table tennis, basketball or soccer (need at least 11 children excluding substitutes) :bsmilie:

(in an olympic craze)

Dragon boating ....... :embrass:

just enuf to be exampted from paying income tax??? :bsmilie: 3 or 4? :sticktong

as many as your logistic and $$$ can supportto give them proper education and charactor building, must consider economy down time and high inflation. no point having 2 if both husband and wife have to struggle everyday just to meet the ends, not having time to spend with their own kids. end up maid knows the kids better than parents.

take note that the gap between rich and poor is constantly widening, evidences is in the news on no, of new millionair singapore have this year and no. of people going the cdc, ntuc etc. for help.

why bring this up? because where you may be in middle class now, thinking life is great, it can go either way, and which side of the scale do you think that you will likely to be in, 5yrs down the road?

pls dont compare to the olden days where parents also struggle to meet the ends $$$, times are different, do you compare you kid's results with other childrens thats obviously doing worst than them or those who are doing better? do you compare your income with (say you are engineer) with operators and say "yes, i earn much more than them, so i dont need increment."?

people now wants to be able to go on holidays (far away atleast once a year), let the kids have their own room, go to "good" school so shift house to within 1km parameter from the school which typical cost much more. than got to have home tution since parents no time (busy earning money).

atleast thats what i have observed from my friends.

any number as long as they dun become a burden to relatives & the state. anybody who having children oni to pass on financial burden,.. dun even think about having any.

b4 babies come, the parents must be ready financially (no soya sauce + plain rice:nono:), mentally (not giving up on child if din become top scorer in exams) & wholeheartedly (dun favour 1 kid over e other & not treat them like old age insurance policy:nono:)!

Must make sure we have enough time and money first.

in singapore, unless you strike lottery. these will never be enough. why wait? make babies......at least you get to earn baby bonus....:bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie: tsk tsk it's a trap

Haha, now our main focus is to give birth, as many as possible. With the encouraging reduction of tax and levy and more subsidies, leaving and trusting our products to the "Professionals" (Child-care centres and maids) to look after? While we continue to carry the name as parents, but trying our best to make more money, hopefully enough to pay all these going to be even better trained "Professionals" and "foreign talent" to care and teach our products? And not forgetting to keep a work-life balance.

What are we? What about those women who gave up their job, just to give birth and look after children, and ensuring every single child receive their best, while only the husband to work for the income?

Think carefully,

How much are we actually paying the Child-care centres?
How fast are we able to reach the centres to collect our children before the Child-care centres close for the day?
How much is the penalty to pay if we late?
How the hospital bill and clinic going to be?
How the milk powder price tomorrow will be?
How much to spend when bring them out?
How many toys to buy?
How much to feed then is considered enough?
How much to save for their future?....

Haha, the bill is damn long....and it's multiplied by the number of children. So are you able to afford it, even with both "parents" (haha, still thinking how to define this title nowaday) working? Still got house, utilities, transportation, entertainment.....? How much stress the couple can tolerant until they would choose to go separate way before a child is borned?

Hence, if your income dun fall within the desire range, do consider properly before having more. Although it's not clearly stated, you may not be in the intended group that are being asked to make more. So, the most famous statement - Work within your limits, and not just follow blindly. Raising children is more than just a head count.

Cheers!
