My First HDR for Wat Arun

Hi everyone;

This is my first try on using HDR on Wat Arun when i was have a short trip at Bangkok.

I like how the building points towards the clear blue sky. However, it would work for me if your composition moves a little to the left to capture the whole blue part rather than the red buildings.

The lightings and colours works fine for me. I guess this picture is well taken except for the cut on the left.

Yes, i also find the cut on the left make the composition a bit out. Will take note on the composition more next time.

composition is lack lustre, wat arun is much more photogenic from other angles - here your floor tiles lead you.. into the right of the frame, where there is nothing, and interest is lost quickly.

as for hdr processing, at least there's no haloing, but the saturation is really doing some wreckage here.

night86mare, thanks for your comments, i think i over did the saturation.... still learning but with the feedback then know what to look out for next time.

there is no foreground interest.

salon photographers will arrange for 2 young monks to be positioned there.

if arranged shots are not your cup of tea, u can wait till someone walk past.

Some elements in the shot are basic things to look out for. You must learn not to overlook them and conform to the rules - such is the rule of thumb in architecture: get the verticals and horizons right.

Learn to follow the rule before you even think of breaking it.

Yes it can, but you will lose some of the edges/corners in the process. Better to get it right (or as close to right) at the point of shooting.
