Hmm...

Hi Vince,

When I looked at the setup, I felt that it looks a little too complicated. As you are in the learning stage. I guess, using one single light still works best to understand how the setup could be fully utilised. Position of lighting to get the desired effects can also be studied - the effects of each light can be studied as you introduce more lights.

I personally doe lots of such study an simply amazed myself on how much to learn just using single light. Here are a couple of shots done with single lights. I basically use one flash strobe to achieve these.

As you mention, the experience counts ...Yes!! True. The coordination of when to press trigger or drop the object really requires some "personal touch".

As you can see, for water shots, sing light give more depth as the other side non lit gives the shadow feel. Can add some lights to taste though.

As for focusing on the drop point...use the method mentioned here in my notes.

Hi sulhan, great tips and nice shot! The Diving Lychee one definitely takes the cake! I've been practicing a little more today (as you can see from my posts) but will have to continue again over the weekend.

Your advice is definitely worth trying out! Will post up a single lightsource pic once I get it done.

Get a straight walled tank. CLEAN it properly.

Then try using a DSLR, better control over the DOF and triggering sync.
