have been looking at the postcards and brochures of night safari and wonder how those pros go their shoot nice and clean without any noise in it. As it is way too dark to shoot using just a DSLR and a tripod with slow shutter, the animals are just going to be blur as they are active in the night. Any advice to share?

More of a trial and error....

if they have clean, low iso shots, it's highly possible they used fill-flash.

Here are my takes... on D200, ISO 1600, f1.8 1/20

;)

They use powerful flashguns don't they?

Just looked at a few 'official' Night Safari photos. The animals don't seem to be lit by just 'ambient lighting'

haha why not? they hire photographer to shoot for them lo...

I was refering to general photography in the Night Safari, where flash is not allowed. For shooting of their ads/posters, i have no idea...

Buy a D3 or D700 and shoot at ISO 25600.

the ones on the night safari's web frontpage right now, should be shot using additional light equipment, the shadows and eyes seem to indicate evidence of this.

they have lighting set ups, camera on tripod with and a few NS helpers with food to get attention of the animals. was privileged enough to be able to visit before operation hours ;).
