I have yet to see photos submitted that were taken from City Hall, Tanjong Rhu. wonder how it looks like.

I hope this give you some perspective.

I assume Tanjong Rhu is the small 'island' where there's a lot of condos there, somewhere off Beach Road/Nicoll Highway?

And I got a question. I'm using a Nikon D60 dual lens kit. The 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. I know they aren't great lenses since they are just kit lenses, but I have no choice but to use them to take photos of fireworks this coming National Day. Which lens would you guys recommend me using? The 18-55mm or 55-200mm? And what's the best setting for taking photos of fireworks? I.e. ISO, Metering, Shutter speed, Aperture, etc.?

Lens is not important, kit lens will perform....

Most important is sturdy tripod, cam with bulb mode, remote switch, black card..... perhaps u oso need extra batt, torch light

Taking fireworks not easy, need technique and practice to get the best.....

Google and you will find many website to teach u how to take fireworks

Gd luck

Why need a black card and torch?

No need to search far...Read this article from CS.

Why need a black card and torch?

Black card when u shooting using bulb mode

Torch light is because the surrounding is dark so in case u need........

I've shot from Tanjong Rhu b4 2 years ago b4 all the IR n NDP platform thing came up. I went there maybe lesser than a year ago to realise that the place is highly fenced up kinda have not so clean backgrounds of CBD n bridge due to the IR construction. I also wanna go Rhu becoz its much lesser ppl with more space for every1 but just wondering hows the view like now...

NTUC grass patch seems to be 1 of the favs but its gonna be real squeezy. unless u go early, bring ur biggest tripod. haha.

any other suggestions? from the map i dont think there is much of a choice for public areas already.

Argh... fenced up?!

erm like there is always a big opening under the bridge area plus some pavement along the condos right. now i think its kinda blocked n not easily accessible. thats wad i rmbed the last time i went there.

some kind soul who live near there help us explore pls! i think its a good place to shoot if its not too obstructed.

How about goin up ECP???

Sounds alittle absurb but I think it should be a relatively good place to shoot. But I guess with all the street lamps and car headlights, not so ideal rite?? :dunno:

anyone got a timing on the fireworks for tml?
