Come on, a simple search on any search engine will give you the answer.

Multiply by 10.76.

even things lile pound feet of torque to newton metres etc.

there are 3 feet approximately to 1 meter. so if you have a 1 by 1 meter square, in feet that would be 3 feet x 3 feet.. which gives 9 square feet or thereabouts...

feet and foot is same.

If you google: "246.8sqm to sqf", he says, "Did you mean '246.8sq m to sq ft' ?". Click that one and you get the right answer

1meter = 3.28feet, so
1 X 1 meter = 1 square meter = 3.28feet X 3.28feet = 10.76 square feet

u are confused with the units, sq meter is area size and meter is length. your assumption is actually right for meter conversion to feet and not sq meter to sq feet.

i don think we lost any fundamentals of knowledge... just that we never practice elementary maths for a while and do we need to? I agree that we are not smarter than a fifth grader. ;p

Similar to me. :sweat:. I kind of realised that if we do not practice a trade or stuff for sometime. We will kind of losing partial memory of the knowledge. I realized that I can't solve a basic secondary problem in current syllubus. Sad case, I am old. :cry:

Not sure how many knows this but you can use Google to do conversion easily. I'm not referring to returned search results of sites that does conversions, rather Google does conversion automatically for you. For example just type, "246.8 square metres to square feet" in the search box and enter. You'll get the results in square feet

I use this Google conversion mostly for currency conversion, very convenient for example .... 100 us dollars in singapore dollars... to get equivalent sing dollars.

For those with a Nokia phone, there are some models (not sure whether available in all) which has a converter program that I find useful. Mine is a N95 and the program is in the "Office" folder. Anything from area to length, mass, etc. Convert until you happy:bsmilie:.

It is easier to remember 1meter=3.28feet than to remember which key to press on convertor program....
