Hi all,

I going to purchase a Manfrotto 190PROCX3 Tripod.
But I cant decide which ball head to choice for?? :dunno:

But I have make up this 2 ball head.

1st option : Horizontal Grip Action Ball Head 322RC2
http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/cache/offonce/pid/2319?livid=80|81&lsf=81&child=2

2nd option : Ball Head With RC2 486RC2 (Typo Error Should be 488RC2)
http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/pid/2304

Pls advice thanks....

Personally i would choose option 2. Reason been that i prefer to hold the camera and lens to do the framing.

Why not just top up a bit more to your budget to get 488RC2.... Just a bit more expensive but it is a lot better.

what do u mean? tripod cannot support a head that weights 0.67kg?
if u talking about camera+cam load 8kg, it depends on the leg... best is to judge by the weakest link(aka the 1 which give less weight support)

as far as the 2 ballheads is concern, the 488rc2 is definitely the stronger of the 2, the griphead is more meant for speed and ease of use but some ppl might not agree on this tho.

actually that's is what I mean.:sweatsm:
Thanks....

Thanks guys...!!!!

I just got my 190CXPRO3 tripod and 488RC2 ball head.

While in the shop today, got to hold on to both ball head.(486RC2 and 488RC2)
The 486RC2 only have 1 lock screw for all direction.
As for 488RC2 there are 2 lock screw. 1 for horizontal rotating (360 degree) and another is mainly for the ball head adjusting

The Overall the feeling of the tripod and is very light weight even include the ball (0.6kg)
I hope..:sweatsm:...
During NS, Beginning get to hold on and carried M16. and felt the weight is still ok...
but later part the weight is killing me..... :bsmilie:

Hi,
You mean the 488RC2 allows the camera to pan 360º ?
My 486RC2 do not have that, its really a pain if I want to do panorama shots.

BTW, how much do you pay for the 488RC2 ? Thanks.

yes, its light if u carry for awhile in the shop, its another different story when walking around under the sun. :bsmilie:
nt scaring u, but thats my experience from carrying around a 1.6kg+/- tripod+head which is consider one of the lighter setup

Yes. It's not just useful for panorama, it's also a quick and easy way to rotate the ball head's control (so that knob is nearest the left hand) after you've set up the tripod and don't feel like picking up the tripod to rotate the setup (and having to readjust the leg heights if the ground is uneven).

Yes, I understand what you mean..
at first I was thinking to get the 486RC2, but after looking and thinking...
I decided the 2 ball heads that I had mention on my early thread.

Yes, And there is also degree reading on the Ball Head...
Don't know why the pix doesn't show the number...:dunno:

So you able to turn according to the degree lor...
I felt will be useful when you want to take a 360 degree pan shot.

The ball head cost me Sin$150 (After converting to YEN with 10% off)
