Need some help and those chaps at HDB can't help very well...

I am looking for a re sale flat for my own accomodations. I am > 35 and wish to reside alone.

What is the income limit if any? I get so many differing responses from HDB, its beginning to become annoying.

Anyway, anyone have some nice tips on where to begin hunting and things to look out for.

I prefer a bigger unit for all my stuff and for friends to visit when they come over from other countries.

Thanks.

Oh: Since I work near the Science Parks, somewhere around there is best.

I have been there...
It does not answer my question on income limits if you venture into the website you linked
Cheers

probably you need to state your questions more specificly?
Income Ceiling
There is no income ceiling (unless applying for CPF Housing Grant).

Thanks for the info, thats the bit I need.
I get all sorts of differing info from HDB on income limits.
I just want to get a flat, and they don't seem to like singles.

So any flat on the open market is game, I assume?

Cheers

base on what I know , pls verify with a property agent or go down personally to the HDB Hub and talk to a officer.
1)to buy a resale HDB , there is no income limit
2)to get the housing loan from HDB then there is an income limit (not sure what the limit for a single). Oherwise you have to get the housing loan from a bank
3)to apply for housing grant (for 1st time buyer or for living near parents). then there is an income limit (not sure what the limit for a single)

No income limit cap at $3k if you are taking the 11k grant, Hdb loan wif subsidise rate.

No limit if u are not taking the grant n hdb subsidise rate or/and taking bank loan or not taking any loan.

Calling HDB is like that one... ie. different officers, different ans....already use to it! :bsmilie:

opps... sorry... accidentally click on the reply with quote :p

I remember there is a household income (per month) limit for buying flat from HDB. Something along the lines of..

$5000 for 3-room
$8000 for 4/5-room
$10000 for EC

As for re-sale I don't think the limit applies at all.

Ok

I finally got a reply from HDB:

If you are a Singapore Citizen, you can buy a resale flat in the open market under the Single Singapore Citizen Scheme. For more information on the eligibility conditions under the Single Singapore Citizen Scheme, please click on the following:

http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10201p.nsf/WPDis/Buying%20A%20Resale%20FlatEligibility%20Scheme%20-%20Single%20Singapore%20Citizen%20Scheme?OpenDocument&SubMenu=Eligibility_Schemes

There is no income ceiling under the Single Singapore Citizen Scheme. However, if you wish to request the Singles Grant of $11,000 or Higher-tier Singles Grant of $20,000 for living with your parents, the income ceiling of $8,000 is applicable. For more information on the Singles Grant, please click on the following:
