nice!

while i may not say that the shots are excellent in terms of aesthetic presentations (oh, especially your watermark ), they are unrivalled in terms of storytelling. you did an excellent job in choosing your subjects, placing them in a sequence and giving the necessary narration that is short but very much to the point.

but as for the picture, "their army ..... i think their 1 platoon equals our 1 battalion"
beijing1.jpg

not very suitable captions. it seem that they have having some inspection, but one guy is looking down, one guy looks away from his inspector, one guy is smiling into the mirror and the rest all with their fist unclenched. not very impressive against the written title corresponding to the contents of the picture

Nice! But you're missing their traffic and their pollution :)

I've always enjoyed my visits to Beijing - thanks for that photos!

the China Flag and Masks are potential subjects for additional photoshopping :bsmilie:

Desaturate picture, apply mask, saturate colors (e.g. red).

is beijing that bad? i thought it would be cleaner than the other more industalised cities like guangzhou
nt sure how it fares against the other cities, but recently they just failed a 6 days out of 7 test on WHO's air quality guideline. link can be found here. hope things clear up before the olympics which is just less than a month away.

anyway i think including more shots on the development for olympics might be nice, afterall they have been rushing for a few years.

how much can one do abt air??? ehhh... i think the world is really asking for too much, and also too naive for the decision make when making the selection...

anyway am i too cliche to expect a picture of the tian'an'men and a picture of the hutong for beijing?

zooosh, i assure you the pollution is as bad as what had been written.

look at the "skies" in all the outdoor photos. i can also assure you the "misty" look in the photo with the great wall is not mist nor fog but smog. as much as i am proud beijing was chosen, i fear it may be a terrible choice afterall.

i would had thought the "lake" picture was actually a picture of the moat. but anyway...

You can fire artillery at air pollution, that,s what you can do :)

I kid you not.

Anyway, don't want to start an off-topic discussion about air pollution here.

thx, cater ! :)

thx for the comment, zoossh, the statement was more of a joke, not really a caption .... :bsmilie:

thx desmondnwj, will try that out. ;p

hey, lennyl, ExplorerZ, babykailan, zoossh, there may be air pollution in Beijing but i still like the place!

I really like that place too. I find the people great, the city really interesting and the food wonderful. I enjoy just wandering around the city on my own on the precious few free hours whenever I am there, then meeting up with friends for dinner.

All I'm saying is, you missed out two things they're also famous for :) I was there a lot last year, and I still haven't figured out how they decide who has right of way on the road.

my tour guide told me the person who has the bigger vehicle & bigger guts will have the right of way ....... :bsmilie:

the peking duck can't be photographed, it needs to be eaten !! :bsmilie: awesome !!
