found this herb growing one height above the rest hence the title.. C&C welcomed the most

if only the taller plant were of a more striking color then it would stand out more.... :> otherwise its gonna end up blending into the background

well.. its a herb found at a herb garden in msia.. herbs r seldom colorful.. so yea.. lol

To me, it looks like a close-up shot of a plant. Doesn't really have that 'impact' I feel. Maybe a little more post-processing should do the trick. Like have the main subject in colour and the rest in black & white, etc. Or you could have went lower to get it from a different angle which could have better emphasized your title.

My 2 cents :)

Well generally it's ok but not very impactful.
I think the background is far too cluttered, and the overlapping green colour leaves make it hard for me to judge that your subject is really taller than the rest.
I would agree with MarkTan89's approach, go lower, and let the shorter plants fill the bottom of your frame.

personally, i feel that the aesthetic appeal is not present here. well, i just feel its not vivid enough- or at all to have any visual impacts on us. oh perhaps thats because i dont find typical plants in general a subject of interest. HOHO

:D just my 2 cents

I think you should have shot up instead of shooting down. Since your focus was on how this one plant was higher than the rest. Shooting up on a subject usually gives the illusion of height.

yea... i think cant go top down if u want to show it rise above the rest... you have to go down to the level and shot upwards hor vertically at the plants to show that it really rise above the rest. :)

juxtaposition. the tall plant should have a contrasting colour/characteristic (other than being taller).
