.

i wonder where you heard people say that sort of nonsense.

anyway, its the photographer not the camera that takes pictures that go WOW.

i've seen people using compacts taking jaw dropping photos, as compared to people using D300. Go figure.... :dunno:

and please, dont start another "NIKON V CANON" thread. do your research, rather then asking around, its more enriching and you'll gain more out of it. from your post you dont even know canon's entry level dslr well! its 450D not D450. :dunno:

typo for the 450D . i know i know i read alot about it. well i just guess i have to just try it out. but i dont wanan regret u see

Hello friend, what have you been smoking lately? Where got camera takes pics goes wow one? It is you that makes it wow. The camera is very stupid one. Must turn it on, press shutter to take a pic, check LCD for exposure... haiz... so sian. Where got wow like that?

If you are newbie, don't anyhow 'hamtam' this vs that la. Go to the shop and test the camera yourself. See which one will suit you better la. I am sure none of the models you mention will give you wow since you dunno what you want to shoot. Read review also useless because review only show how to operate the camera and not teach you how to take wow pictures.

don't buy better... no matter what... next time u see better model or newer model, u also will regret since u think it is the camera that takes pictures that goes WOW.

Indeed, like many others had said, "feel" the cam. Comparing specs will not help much especially if you can't appreciate what perks the features can bring. In fact, all the cams you mentioned can take good pictures if in the right hand. Who knows, after you hold and feel all the cams, you will have the answer.
Happy choosing and most importantly happy shooting after you got the cam of your choice. :)

Btw, starting a thread with title "A vs B" is really quite dangerous. :p

this is a pointless thread,honestly
both brands are good
No 1 brand is better than the other
the pictures depend on the photographer
just because you have a good cam doesnt mean your pics will automatically be good

Hey, Im not an active blogger in here. But i do know bout cameras abit....i have used both nikon and canon. and all i can say is that you should get a nikon. Since you have named a few models, I would say u get a D60, its more for beginner but if u have the money or a higher budget, u should consider D80 which is slitely better. based on my experience, Nikon Dslr's colours are very balanced, as compared to canon, their colours are more to red.
Software or firmware wise, i would say taht nikons are much better. all my school cameras which is a canon are known to have this error called error 99 and it is very troublesome and it disrupts your shooting alot. I am a Nikon user fr almost 5 years, and my D70 still has not shown any firmware errors....

I recommend you to get the Nikon D3.

Don't waste time. Empty that bank account and immediately purchase this camera. The pictures that you take CONFIRM plus GUARANTEE will go WOW.

and thres one thing that i have forgot to say. that is.....BOTH BRANDS MAKE GOOD DSLR, THEY ARE THE WORLD LEADING BRANDS in cameras and u will never regret buying either brand, even professionals use compact or digital cameras....the camera is never the problem, but it is the photographer. no matter how good ur camera is, it is all in the photographer to produce the WOW pictures...

thanks

You're also a champion.

Near the level of the threadstarter, but not there. Almost.

Especially if you turn on the mic and say "WOW!"

kekeke... another 1 of those C N N thread.... be careful... later the C N N fans will hamtam you...

Like most bro here point out....... review, webite blah blah blah can only tell you so much.... you are the one using it... go have a feel of the cam and I am quit sure... at the end of the day.... you will have an answer.......

Especially if you turn on the mic and say "WOW!"

No need for the mic with the D3. Come on man, you should know this. Automatically the pictures will go WOW!

Maybe with the D300 you will need the mic. For the D80, you need a really powerful amplifier for the pictures to go WOW.

Should go to Canon showroom at vivo city to try out the real thing, while for Nikon they shd have it at electronics stores like Harvey norman, Best denki. etc.

Try out both and see which 1 you like. As mention by fellow CSers that the main issue is not how good the specs of the camera but how well you are able to operate/use your camera. Finalise on your decision, pay & start shoot.

;p
