I am just wondering, if a person takes on a name from a fictional source, does it count as copyright infringement and liable to be sued? :bsmilie:

eg. Akira Tan, Iron Man Shen, Darth Vader Ong, Die Hard Lim, etc etc

Not sure you want to call yourself Edison Chen. :bsmilie:

Sure thing, if you want to be laughed at all the time, whereever you go.....:bsmilie:

What copyright? Can I sue Christopher Lee for not being a christian but using my name?

Its bad that the parents choose lousy/weird names for their kids, but to do it on your self, that's being silly....:bsmilie:

BTW, how to pronounce your nick?

there's a guy in SG called batman bin suparman

and i also personally know a clerk that was in CMPB..his name was Wong Fei Hong..n his english name was Master...hence.. Master Wong Fei Hong..

Well, don't let me catch him wearing underwear outside his tights....I will call police....:bsmilie: BTW, is that even in english?

Wong is a common surname, and Fei Hong is also a common name. "master" is a title, and not a name. But then, you can always call yourself whatever you want. Just that you must be prepared to bear with being the butt of jokes....:bsmilie: With a name like that, just make sure he is a trained martial artist, else will get hantum all the time.

I know someone called Lin Jun Jie. Junjie is quite a common name, and he happens to have the common surname Lin, and it happens to be that of a famous singer.

Well, it depends on who gets famous first, loh!

Anyway, TS is asking about fictional names, and I did make a few mistake in the earlier post.

So if he ever signed on and become Master sergeant, then he is Master Master Wong? Now what Corporal Master Wong? :bsmilie: I think I will just stick with "chao Cpl" lah!

A person's name decribes the person he is or aspire to be. So choosing a name is important indeed.

i have a friend who's alias is " Hellman "....direct translation from his cantonese name. hahahaha. too bad it isn't his english name, or it would be too cool.

Anybody met this guy before?

Oh ya, mine pronounced as... Delete Control no Alternative. - the underscore is just so that the words look separated, and the no is purposely made small.
