Hey guys. Some time ago, there was a thread like this asking about those Gadget Infinity PT04M radio triggers, and someone mentioned that Ruby Photo was carrying something slightly better than the Cactus radio triggers (at a higher price).

My question is this: Lets say I want to fire 3 flashes (2x 580EXII, 1x 430EX). Do I have to get 1 trigger + 3 receivers, or will canon infra-red wireless thing still work with 1 master connected to 1 receiver? Meaning this: Radio transmitter on camera hotshoe, 1 transmitter on 580EXII set on master, and this triggers the other 2 flashes set to slave. Is this possible, or do I have to get another 2 extra receivers?

Oh, and a slightly off-topic question here: Where is this Ruby Photo? I searched Peninsular Plaza (and the directory) and still couldn't find the shop..

Thanks!

AFAIR, Ruby is in Funan, not Peninsula Plaza. Level one, right hand of the escalator if you come from Peninsula Plaza. It's among these older shops, not the shiny Funan shops.

Yeahh... I couldn't find it.

In bright sunlight, IR won't work that well...be aware

Your 580 EX can set to master mode and trigger the other 2 yes, but I don't think it works better if you get 2 more receiver. and make sure you get the TM version or your Canon EX will keep triggering

Ohh yeahh.. >< now I feel retarded.

Ok, just to update this thread a little bit.

I bought my items 2 days ago at Ruby Photo. 43" shoot-through/reflective 2-in-1 umbrella, THIS flash mount, and Impact radio triggers (1set). Total damage was S$227.

Here's a picture to show off what I achieved:

580EXII, Shoot-Through Umbrella, 1/16 power, 1m distance
400D, 50mm, 1/60, f/5.6, ISO200

What the radio triggers CAN'T do is trigger a 580EXII set on master to trigger another 430EX set to slave via infra-red. That means that if you want 2 flashes, you'd need to have 2 receivers.

Thanks for all the help guys!

go sim lim square to buy 1 of 2 following if you want to use 1 receiver with 2 flash:-
although it is recommendeded to get mono, it did not work for me. i recommend you bring your flash and trigger to test before buy.

i tried mono version of this
http://uf-tech.com/images/stories/catalog_item/525130-1.jpg only $3.50
but it did not worked.

in the end, i bought this, stereo version.
http://uf-tech.com/images/stories/catalog_item/634002-0.jpg only $4.50

cable is the cheapest and most reliable, 5m for $10.

you can use your infra red to trigger but not reliable at bright sunlight.

are you keen to get cable from overseas. want to share shipping cost?
http://flashzebra.com/products.shtml at least USD15

Haha yeah I know, but I'd rather get wireless stuff. Maybe I'll need to get another receiver next time when I purchase my own flash (or when I borrow my friend's flashes), or maybe an optical trigger.
