Hi guys a question does HDR files have to be in raw formatt to make it a better picture when photoshopped? or even with jpeg it will do the same?

theoretically, it will be better in many jpg.

why? many jpg will give a wider dynamic range if you do it right. raw format is actually only apt for say, maybe a bit of extended dynamic range, maybe 1 or 1 1/2 stops wider than your usual direct output from the raw file. hdr from single raw also tends to be noisier than hdr from many jpg.

there are advantages to shooting raw and then making a "fake hdr" from raw though.. for example you will not get ghosting because something has moved in the frame between shots. can be useful.

Hey night hahaha that's tips from the pro himself got alot to learn from u guys. just bought a new magazine today "Digital Camera" any good magazines that a newbie like me can learn from? bought it cos it had 450D reviews

go to the national library, magazine section, a lot of past issues. skip all the reviews la, one review is like any other eventually, what you feel about a camera is what you feel about it, not what a reviewer tells you.

i used to sit on a comfortable sofa with a stack of photo magazines (amateur photographer, photovideoi, practical photography, etc) and somehow the afternoon would drift away. if there were too many issues that i'd seen before then i'd just go upstairs and flip through photobooks. too much time after ns. :devil:

most importantly, the library is free, then can save the money to buy the appropriate equipment. the only reason why i spend here is cos no more library.
