Why so called "models" with little or less experience can demand paid shoots?

Funny, looks like any young, maybe with a cute face can just post in Clubsnap and ask for paid shoot. Appaently most of them have little or maybe no experience at all. Some may state that they MAY do TFCD but ONLY if they like your ideas but I very much doubt so.

So what if any ah cat ah dog with a camera in hand start asking for paid shoot will end up?

i have been asking that question for years! I haven't heard of this practice anywhere else.
Every XMM in the streets are saying they are models and going for shoots.
i CANNOT stand the "finger on cheek" and "bloated mouth with wink" poses.
Like Deadpoet said, many testosterone overload men are willing to pay, and modelling is an ego thing for little girls.
Of course, there are the organizers who make easy money promoting these girls.

They still havent learn the tough and complex world of modelling, let them learn the hard way. If the photog think paying them with good shots is worth it let them be. And they didn't get any proper training form any model agencies. Maybe need to add requirements in those threads. who is ur parent agency, no of yrs been with them, how long been modelling etc

Agreed to all. There will always be testosterone charged males with moolah and time.
But I found what's really really pathetic are some photographers wannabe advertising for wedding/event shoots at services thread.
Nothing wrong with that, we're all newbies once right? WRONG, if you take time to browse their so called 'portfolio' with some badly exposed photos, flat skintones, etc. All snapshots. I wouldn't dare to offer my services with that kind of skill, if I were to shoot so badly, think I would take prob 3-5yrs of intensive practice, if I've any talent at all.
Oh yeah, to make things worse, these people even dare to call him/themselves photographers and goes around 'criticising' photographers and models on their poses, makeups, compositions, exposures, looks (saying they look ugly, now that's BAD) etc on PM(s). OMG look in the mirror please! Look at your own works pls, zero control, zilch makeup, zilch skill!
Try looking at the services thread, a good example would me nick starting with 'A' and ends with 'L'. Full of ego but nothing to prove.

It's always the same 'formula' - pretty young girls and a male photographer (never a female photographer). It's just the male hormones at work, and face it - everyone likes a pretty face!!

Try a social escort firm, you get charged for 'model' quality too. Why? Prettier mah... even though the 'service' is the same (or worse!)

Very true, and we should allow the free market to govern itself.

However, that does not mean 90% of these so call "model" can make it, and that does not mean those of us who expects and demands a degree of standard to keep our mouths shut.

Yup, its a question of demand and supply...just like the oldest trade in the world, there's simply no end to it. For the model wannabies, maybe it offers them a glimmer of hope in their fantasy world (of being glamorous model) -- sure beats being a part time sales promoter rite?

This has been debated many times here ...... nobody forces anyone to pay for these inexperienced/newbie models .... it's all a personal choice. $50 to some ppl is a lot of money and to some, is petty cash.

This is actually a very positive incentive .... it forces the photographer to engage in new ideas/concepts, and also to improve one's skills to have quality images that impress the potential models. Check around, there are many models who are willing to do it for free to certain photographers here. :think:

Cool it guys.. I had worked with very nice models from clubsnap. I believe the interaction before commitment do help. If things didnt seem right during the interaction, then dont commit.

If we shun off all new entrants to this industry, do you think professional models and top grade models would flood the Service for Offer thread at a cheapie price? Give the new entrants a chance to be in the limelight. Well of course, if they ask for professional rates (ie >$80/hr) but had literally zero experience in modelling or to know what makes a good pose, then let the rich uncles and rich teenagers pay and teach them how to pose. :bsmilie:

my observation is that these virgin "models" self-graduated too quickly. On the average, not more than 3 tfcd or 6 months, whichever comes first......:dunno: after that, "sorry, i only do paid-shoots" ....
