There was a news article in the paper accusing the judge for being too strict to Juvenile delinguent.

e.g. they were told to have a proper hair colour etc before attending the hearing. At time, their parents were also lectured by the judge...

What say you?

i belif in the good old saying... spare the rod, spoil the child.

Most kids have it too easy, spoilt and given alittle too much liberty. I am old school too to some extend but ya..some good old fashion ideals makes for good foundation to mould them especially to have a spine. I am all for talking sense and logic with them but if it fails and give you atitude...I say break out the butt basher and let it wail.

It's true that lawyers would ask you to smart up your appearance and present yourself better as part of the tactic to win sympathy. Facts of life. I alway feel that before anyone disipline my children...it is only right that it be me to do it first as by the time you need a judge to do that for you...you have failed as a parent. And if you side with him unreasonbly just because they are your flesh and blood ...you have fail society too and just as much the cause for what he/she did.

Its all about being respectful and having respect for authority (law, parents, teacher, police, etc)....sigh.

While outward appearance might not mean internal respect for others, nevertheless, you certainly need to dress appropriately for the occasion. You need to show respect for others.

Its certainly true that kids nowadays are brilliant and learn thins very fast with the huge inflow of information and better nutrition, they are still kids and need to be guided in the proper moral values and social behaviour.

Sigh! I am no longer considered young and cool anymore....:bheart:

I await the parent who can rebuke the judge simply by saying that this is a courtroom, not a pulpit, and they are judges who are to pass verdicts and sentences, not give lectures and sermons.

Today's kids do not know the meaning of respect. They just demand it on a platter. :nono:
