Just got a tele convertor , notice that that is a ring of light when it is fully zoom out ( note this is not the vignetting ). But when i zoom in a little the ring of light is gone . It this due to stray light and flare ??

Pls advice this newbie here:)

1. What lens do you use?
2. What brand and power (1.4x / 1.7x / 2x) of teleconverter do you use?

Is the ring of light that you see outside the boundaries of what see of the image thru the viewfinder, or part of the image ??

It is a 2x vitacon len ( ok i know it is not a good convertor :()

Giant canopy ..it is part of the picture ...will see if i can post a pic

i am using a G9

Please go to this website. Is this what you experienced?

As far as I know, there is no way to correct the problem, just use it in longer zoom range. It's because your widest zoom is wider than the limit the lens can do.

Just a suggestion, next time try it first before you buy, or if you can't try, read reviews on the product.

FYI, the lens you use is not a teleconverter. The proper name is actually tele attachment or tele conversion.

Many people mislead by tele conversion / tele attachment makers saying that their product is a teleconverter.

This is a tele conversion / tele attachment:

And this is a teleconverter (the one between the body and the lens):

My two cents.
