A SEARCH has been launched for the happiest person in Singapore, where a recent survey found that 90 per cent of its population feel that life is stressful.

The aptly named Philip Merry, chief executive of consulting firm Global Leadership Academy, has been tasked with locating the cheery resident.

``Being based in Singapore and having trained thousands of people across the globe, one distinct trend I have noticed is that despite material wealth and economic success, Singaporeans consider themselves less happy than many other people,'' Mr Merry said.

``Singaporeans fret about financial security and retirement. Many Singaporeans are concerned they do not have enough money to grow old gracefully and that seems to make them unhappy,'' he said.

Despite its affluence, a poll by international advertising firm Grey Group found that nine in ten people living in the city-state said they were stressed.

Citizens aged 18 years and above can be nominated for the title and the winner will be given an overseas holiday.

Who is the Happiest person in Clubsnap? :bsmilie:

This is the most STUPID search ....
How do one measure being the happiest?

Am happiest whenever I'm not in Singapore

Mmmm someone who have achieved the 5 cs due to his or her "talent" and dont have to worry about rising costs as he or she is rich enough to shrug the increases as a pittance, someone who finds the government efficient and effective and helping them make more money, someone who is so touched that Singaporeans are so "united" in its search for Mas Selamat.

Just my thoughts on who will be Happiest Singaporean.

so now what? are we going to see "happy idol" appearing on tv now?

There are a couple of contenders, they all reside at Woodbridge Hospital. :bsmilie:

It has to be our esteemed mentor ministar Lee Kuan Yew. His baby of a Singapore has grown up to be a fine and wealthy nation

How can people be happy if they chose to join the rat race?

A Greedy person will constantly vile to be the best but does "best" exist?
Be content with what you have for everything is temporal.

mr lim is our role model

his ever-lasting spirit

along with his brilliant yellow underpants, symbolic of his never say die attitude, along with his superb talent at picking eyebrows

are traits which will be remembered forever more.

Funny how we have to have some kind of contest to find the happiest or happy person in Singpaore. But I bet we don't need to have a contest to find the most frustrated person in Singapore. Too easy to find potential winner heheheheheheh I bet there are alot in this thread alone if not all heheh
