What size do u guys suggest? i have a 2gb on hand now.. wanna get another memory card.. so can switch among 2..

how high is the failure rate? any bro encounter memory card die on them?

i think i should be getting kingston SDHC6~ looks cheap :bsmilie:

btw i using D80~

Depending on what format you are shooting. I am using 2 x 1GB on my K100D and usually I am shooting in RAW. :)

Perhaps my file size is small and I usually do not take more than 150 shots, so it is enough for me. :)

I guess its better the get the Extreme III SD cards since the prices had went down quite substantial :)

Hmm, i don't realli trust kingston after 3 out of 4 of my cards died within a year. San disk has been great though. If u shoot raw, 8gb could be very useful as having too many cards could be messy though more safe as u do not lose so much things if one card goes missing.

wah... one year die..

i seldom shoot in raw... except during event... one picture is 10mb.. 2gb can last only about 170photos...

I suggest 8G. You never know when you need it.. and the price is really good now - $130. Just last weekend at Funan, it would have cost me $175!!

My advise is to get the more reputable brands such as Sandisk for example.
I got some corrupted pics on my then new 8GB Transcend before when i went europe, and i subsequently bought a Sandisk that hasn't given any similar issues yet.

Not so much on SD cards but I suppose analogy can be drawn :)

I got a Kingston CF card as a freebie when I got my camera. It died on me twice! The first time occurred just months after I got the card and I panicked cos I thought I lost all my pictures, luckily could recover them by using card-reader ;( I got 2 other 2GB Scandisk and they had never given me any problems.

On size, I always thought it is not safe to have one big memory card cos if you lose it, you probably lost everything unless you had backed up. 2 GB works for me and I have 2 of them (not counting the Kingston) - but I shoot in JPEG mostly.

I have two SDHC Class 4 cards, between Toshiba and Kingston, which one has better quality?
the packaging says "Made in Japan" for the Toshiba. Whilst Kingston one says "Assembled in Japan".

haven tried sandisk becos my 2-3 kingston SD haven't give way nor any problem yet, but i do find that their 2gb card 50/120x are usually much slower than 1gb equiv...
