HI all,

to those who are using 40d, or alike batteries.

How long do you charge for a full charge? Saying the camera indicates 1/3 full battery left.
The red light does not seem to be a good indicator.. maybe mine is faulty.

Thank yu.

The battery lasts really long compared to other brands! For me it's less than 30mins usually.

i've never notice the charge time.. haha

since i leave it to charge overnight. lol

Don't charge overnight la. The battery will be quite warm and lifespan will drop.

Mine, I charge for about 1 hour-1.5hrs.

I am under the impression that charging terminates when the red led stays red? as opposed to the blinking in quick succession dependent on the level of charge in the battery

same. that's y i leave it on overnight.
it shd stop charging when the red light stays red.

unless that dosent not happen, then i'll just charge till it stays red and switch it off.

Thanks for the informative answers. I was thinking about 2 hours would be sufficient for the charge but i sometimes forget when i actually start the charger so i have to refer to the light. So continuous light = fully charged?

thanks people

When its full charged, the red LED will light up instead of blinking. den it will cut off the charging. I usually leave it charging overnight unless I need to charge 3 of my batteries in succession. (my M80 uses the same battery)

When LED blinks once , its 25% charged,
When LED blinks twice, its 50% charged,
When LED blinks trice, its 75% charged,
When LED is continuous ON, its 100% charged.

Read the Manual lah.

hahas. i dont even used my 40d to shoot. but most probably would last long enough for half a day shoot.

I also notice that it takes very short time to fully charged from 1/3 bar, say less than an hour.

Ya sometimes it makes me wonder if I am even charging it the right way. Thank u guys.

If I remember correctly, I read it somewhere in the manual saying that it can be fully charged in 200 minutes.

I remembered reading somewhere that after the light glows steadily, leave it in the charger for another hour for maximum charge. I have no idea how that works so I won't speculate. Basically, I leave it in for 30mins - 1hr after the light stops blinking, and carry spares for my spares. :bsmilie:
