Hi guys!

Was surfing around and I came across this:

Open Your Heart

Win fantastic prizes, and better yet, make a real difference! Just by taking part in the Love +ve Photo Competition. Simply take a photo that you think best represents love and its connection to HIV/AIDS and submit it here.

Closing date: 19 Mar 2008

* Judge’s Choice Award: S$3,000 cash
* Voter’s Choice Award: S$1,000 cash
* 20 finalists each receive a cool laptop messenger bag.
* Voters prize : 10 lucky voters get a S$50 Heeren voucher and laptop messenger bag!

Thought you guys might be interested in taking part. Cash prize sure could get me new lenses. :D:D:D Although you think instead of a laptop messenger bag they could give us like stylo-milo camera bags.

2. Participants must be between the age of 16 and 29 years.

i thought the age limit is for volunteer. i did not see it for participants of the photo competition.

older people not so likely to have aids, so they are not the target audience

is it because their immune system is better. or they can't function anymore?

This a great competition.

The awareness of aids hasn't been brought about so far in terms of photography and it gives everyone a nice theme to look forward to and compose a shoot.

The apparent message struck me more than the prize money in fact. Will try to find a picture for this competition!

i don't think that it's the older generation who won't have aids. most probably the rising trend in the younger generation taking part in casual/premarital relations.

good way to raise awareness. and a good motivation to snap shots!
;)

Don't Bother!
I entered last year....
They claimed NOT ENOUGH entries, that is why They took out the 2nd and 3rd Prize! for the Video/ Animation Category!

Now, They must be thinking that Older men will not have time for photography......... the Old Men are only interested in Pornography!!!!!

haha. that's quite funny. i'm not sure also. maybe give chance? plus inject a bit more of that shutter-bug into the younger generation?

didn't really hear about it last year. hmmm... i think they're making up for it with giving out other goodies and just having a photo competition.

should open to all, since it is the message that matters most
anyway i am too old to take part

best wishes to everyone taking part
