I am thinking of going on a photography outing during this time (during the Hari Raya week). Anyone has any similar plans that I can bunk?

I thought of organising a trip up to Beijing for those who have never been there, and since this is the same period right after the Beijing Olympics, the city will be at its best while still bathing in the Olympics mood. We can actually talk to a travel agency here to help us organise some of the basics like ticketing and and half the trip in organised tour packages, while the other half I can take you guys on foot to various places to shoot.

I know of places where we can get decent accommodation at about $50-$80 per day, depending on everyone's needs towards luxurious rooms, but personally I believe that we should save on that aspect and spend it on other stuff since we are on a shooting outing.

Just sharing my two cents and I am glad to help out if you guys are keen to come to Beijing.

sounds good microcosm
i'll be interested too
i've never been to beijing as well
right after the olympics is a good time

Post a rough schedule here for discussion. Just an idea.

ah bro. Very interesting itinerary. Thanks for showing your interest in organizing this.

BTW, are the dates fixed ? I might not be able to make it during these dates.

I suppose the air tickets during this period will be prohibitively expensive. This is due to two reasons :
1. The Singapore F1 GP will be from 26-28 Sep. Lots of visitors will be returning from Singapore around these dates.
2. Its the October holiday week in China. I would expect major human traffic in Beijing (for that matter, in most places in China).

This is just an idea since the dates were proposed by the thread starter. I live in Beijing so you guys can come over and I plan trips for you guys anytime... having a local guide is always better and cheaper and you won't get ripped off! LOL.
