Get some lint free cleaning cloth and a good blower. That should do most of the time.

I've been told that a good wipe down with a damp cloth before storing into the dry cabinet helps keep fungus at bay. Especially after a long day out in our warm weather. Have been personally too lazy to do it all the time though.

Damp cloth ?? helps keep fungus at bay... you sure or not.... think fungus will proliferate at exponential speed... think a dry cloth will do...

A dry cloth is ok for most of the time. I myself also hardly give it such a good scrub until i am in a good mood with lots of time :bsmilie:

I think the referral to a damp cloth is one that is not drenched but just slightly to the touch to remove dust or other gunk. The minimal moisture is fine since u are going to put it in ur trusty dry cabi which will dry it in no time.

Alcohol wipes can be abit more abrasive to the textured surfaces of the cam bodies and can degrade rubber ( ok depends on the surface of the camera ). Some ppl recommend a combi of half alcohol half water to slightly dampen cloth.

I clean both my DSLR, flash and lenses after every use with a lens tissue and microfiber cloth. No dampness is required. After that just store in the dry cabinet but remember to remove any batteries.

i would use a microfibre cloth to have my dslr cleaned and followed by using lens tissue to clean the lens filter .
than i would leave it out for about 3-4 hours before storing it in my dry cabi
every 6 months, send my camera for normal servicing just to ensure everything works fine

Yeah i also made a point to send in my DSLR for general serving at least once a year.

If you do use a damp cloth, do wipe it down and dry it carefully with a dry cloth as well.... dun leave any moisture on it. ;)

General Servicing as in bringing in the camera to CSC? How much does it cost? sorry to overthread as my camera coming one year old liaoz....

Depending on what u require them to service. If it's sensor cleaning including focusing screen and viewfinder, should be less than $50.
