I've been putting on weight and had decided to go jogging.
when i took out my nike from my shoe cabi, sole has disintegrated!

i know most of you guys serve NS, so thought you guys will prob be the people to ask when it comes to running shoes.

any recommendations?
for pure running only.

i'm have been quite disappointed with Nike.had owned a few pairs before but none last more than 1 year.

Buy SAF running shoes :bsmilie:

Cheap and good ...

i knew someone would say that.

i heard my brother told me a pair in Saf minimart only cost about $40+.

but i'll pass that...
LOL

The New Balance or the Brooks running shoes at Emart got that expensive meh? Anyway, it's FREE... use credits one... no need cash...

I believe the Nike and New Balance shops at Suntec do custom fit for length/width/arch. In theory these should be the best interms of fit and comfort.
Running shoes if used regularly have a limited life as the cushining will wear.
SImilarly if unused for long periods of time , the cushioning tends to harden and not provide adequate support.

Other then that weight and design is up to individual preference.

I do a lot of running, including trail running. For trail running, Adidas is fantastic. The suntec branch can customize it to your foot. For road/treadmill/track running, I highly recommend Mizuno. Fantastic shoes.

Never ever get nike...

I prefer Brooks and Asics. New Balance off-the-rack shoes hurt my feet.

Nike have long had a problem with durability. If you watch the movie "Prefontaine" with Jared Leto, you'll see the character of the coach who co-founded Nike. He never made his shoes to last more than a race, which was shown in the film.

that depends on how often you run per week .... :dunno:

so far I still prefers Nike Air .... :)

Depends if you are an avid jogger, pro jogger or once in a blue moon type.

Pro joggers - High end Asics(e.g kayano), Mizunos (, Saucony and New Balance for actual race day and a few lower mid end costs training shoes. These brands are highly used by marathoners. Sad to say Nike and Adidas was never in this market segment. They are more geared towards the fashion types rather than pure long distance running.

Avid joggers -I personally have a few mid end Mizunos and New Balance. Not the super high ends but these are the training shoes and is made for day in day out jogging. Most of the time, they are made more durable.

Once in a blue moon type - Whatever brand you like so long that u feel it looks nice and is comfortable.

if yours is slightly flat feet, get New Balance.

my feet need arch support, that why i used Adidas. ;)

Asics and Brooks are running shoes that I have trusted for many years. The rest are crap, especially Nike. They are only good at marketing, nothing else.

I would recommend Asics or Mizuno if you can afford it. Followed by Adidas. Like what the rest said, can forget about Nike, they spoil really fast. I'm using a pair of Adidas Adizero series now and it's really comfortable and super light.

thanks guys.

where are the mizuno boutiques?

i only saw the asics one in marina square.

i'm not a pro runner.

but i am very determine to run at least 3 times a week.
i've also signed up a gym package with personal trainer.

i hope the above brands make size 5.
i always have problems getting shoes that fits.

fyi, i have 4 ipods.

1 itouch, 2 x 30gb and 1 x ishuffle.

how to carry MBP and run?xiao meh?

Hi sis,

you can consider Asics and Mizuno for running shoes. They are very comfy. There is a Mizuno boutique at Marina Square it's opposite Crocs IIRC. Anyway, Mizuno is brought in by World of Sports if I'm not wrong, so you can check out the various World of Sports outlets too. :)

Nike AIR + Macbook AIR... ;p

Anyway, I think getting shoes and camera is the same... It doesn't really matter what your equipment is unless you're all out for professional.
