Does Nikon 18-200mm comes with a pouch?

just bought the lens from 1 clubsnapper.

realize don't have a pouch, is it normal?

Hope someone that bought 1st hand can give me an answer

There's a black leatherette soft pouch. Maybe he forgotten? Maybe it's still left inside some dri-cabs or something!

sent him an SMS already. he say will get back to me. but till now, no replies.

btw, is it normal for signs of opening up of lens? Claims that he only sent for servicing at Nikon Service Center. And the front part where there's a ring covering up the screw, its "de-railed" from the ring. Weird, i should be sending it down to NSC these days.

I supposed you are referring to the rubber ring. The rubber ring on my 18-200mm expanded after two year, sent to NSC to get it replaced for $25.

haiyo, why u didnt check the lens properly before purchase? do u get such a good price where u can forget to check all this kind of stuff? :dunno:

Take some test shots, esp at small aperture (e.g. f/22) and if the dust and stains does not show up, don't worry too much about it. If you notice, the barrel of the lens extends and dust can get "sucked" into the lens... and as with most lenses after use, there will be dust inside.

You can take your lens to NSC and you can ask for a quote of how much to clean the inside of the lens. Also, they will know if the lens has been opened. I brought a 2nd hand lens there once with my cam for servicing, and the person called me to ask if I had opened the lens up, which I did not, and explained that it is 2nd hand. They found a screw that did not match (looks fine to me though) and replaced that screw for me at no charge.

Oh alrighty, will go down NSC when i'm free. Hope it wont have to wait too long. On the spot they can quote and work on it le mah? I guess only dust and that expanded ring are the problems.
