give the 2 choices, what would you choose? or do you have anything else to recommend? budget is around 100 bucks.

thanks!

sorry guys, it took a while to load the poll..

btw, my main piority is the weight and size. i don't want to be having too much weight on my shoulders for a overseas trip yea...

pls advice! thanks!

Carrying a tripod oversea is really tiring. For my last trip to Taiwan, I brought a cheapo but light tripod over instead of my Benro. In the end, due to the need to walk around alot, I left my tripod in the hotel. My back is already suffering aches from the weight of my camera(Canon 30D) alone. So for me, no tripod. Maybe a small sandbag to support the cam on uneven grounds.

thanks for your input, Melvin..

i am going Taiwan this april too. but only 2 of us including myself so that means i would need a tripod to take 'self portraits'... :sweatsm:
planning to shoot some night shots as well.. the pasar malam and stuffs..
btw my setup is only 1KG..

decisions......

anymore recommendations??

Get a monopod or get a D300 :p..... shoot at high ISO to overcome the hand shake in low light condition or get a fast lens :)

Like many here, I would bring my tripod for travel, but end up left in the hotel, even though mine is the lighter Carbon Fibre type :(

i will be bringing slik pro gm tripod for my europe trip
the weight seems ok to me..
slighty too long to fit into my bag

My Manfrotto and ball head setup is pretty heavy at about 2.3kg, but if I need to take night scene die die I will bring it out and lug around from morning till night as once I leave the hotel I will not return till late night and I spent the whole day on foot. I usually carry a sling bag with the tripod hanging by the side of the bag, poking one of the legs into the shoulder strap, clamping it in place with the other 2 legs. It abit tiring but I sort of get use to it liao :bsmilie:

go for a slik tripod
cheap, light and useful
doesn't attract unwanted attention and quick setup
besides, ur load is abt a kg, no issue.
