The most common one being "cannot take photo with three people in a picture!" I have learnt that this is not confined to just the Chinese community in S'pore.

What other superstitions are there?

Personally, I think it's bullcr*p, but sometimes you have no choice but to respect the wishes of others.

What do you think?

One more I heard: Never to take photos of people sleeping..

Dont take pictures of people at all, it steals their soul.

Thats a big one still amongst the real local people in Asia.

not just asia lah. alot of cultures around the world still believes this.

Some of the young ones don't really mind. But the older ones seem to take a lot of weight in this.

cannot ask old man to pass camera.

cannot shoot some people of religious sects ie Jehovah's Witness, etc. From the lady's words: "God will smite you"

Was in Dubai in march last year visiting a relative, 1 of my cousins just bought a Humvee, try to take a photo of him besides his new vehicle, he replied with a big "NO". He says that it was a bad luck to to be photog beside a new vehicle.

never point the camera at the sun...:embrass:

I wanted to shoot a fortune teller on a street, the old man quickly tell me this type of thing cannot shoot one. :embrass:

Cannot bring in camera to special exhibition in museum. Hmp!

That's because you did not give him $10. :bsmilie:

Hows that superstition!

that is why I dun understand. we can shoot at ISO 1600 or heck ISO 3200 and dont even have to use flash light but NOOOOOOOO... the cisco guards have to confiscate our camera. The museum also never mention it on their website because it is so happen that we can bring into the normal exhibit but not into their special exhibit. :dunno:

Never use a Nikon lens cap on a Canon. :bsmilie:

;) this one i do, my canon got nikon strap and nikon lens cap, or sometimes my nikon has the canon's.
