Hi,

wondering if anyone is experiencing the same prob as me.. i have a bag purely for my camera/lens/flash and on other occasions like sch, i have a separate bag..

anyone can recommend a sling bag which can carry my cam/lens/flash, at the same time got compartment for lappy/notes/books?

checked out crumpler but their price are really steep..

hope to hear some suggestions/advice from the pros here.. =)

thx!

most laptop/camera combination bags from reliable camera bag makers like lowepro, crumpler, tamrac, etc.. (and these are the relatively average priced ones) are going to cost around the same price as crumpler offerings.

you may try bagman i guess, but at your own risk - the cushioning to me, is not very sturdy from what i've seen.. this is supposedly some imitation? crumpler thing from china.

on another hand, why not do it the way i did it when i went italy - if your bag's camera cushioning unit is detatchable (like compudaypak from lowepro).. just detatch it and dump it into a simple carry-all. you can sling it :dunno: note that in a serious fall this will not provide as much protection as if the camera was in a proper bag though, and also this requires a pretty snug fit (i.e. compartments must be tight around the camera as far as possible) for maximum relative protection.

yah heard of bagman.. lol.. the chiong crumpler..

sounds like a good idea to re-arrange the partition to form new compartments.. yah the tradeoff have to be the space for my camera equipments.. >_<

shall cont to look around!

Well there is the Lowepro Rover plus AW. Big bag that can be divided into 2 compartments, lower for camera stuff and the top for other barang barang. You can even combine both to form 1 big compartment too. Another one would be the Tenba PB15. 1 latop compartment and well padded for camera stuff either.

Both you can find in buy and sell. Coz I have WTS threads on both bags LOL :bsmilie:

haha thnxk! but i'm looking for sling bags leh...

With your laptop and DSLR and lenses, it's going to be quite heavy. You probably cannot carry it for long periods.
I would suggest a backpack instead of slingbag

have you tried carrying all your gear in 1 sling bag before? Try it first before considering such a large sling bag.

yup yup.. i unds the weight.. but its more for sch purposes.. gotta bring my notes and lappy to sch.. plus need to do some simple shoots in sch..

definitely wont be lugging around the sling bag for long distance photoshoots.. =)

a sling bag is more for travelling between home and sch.. :)

faa,

Yes, Cumpler bags are costly but why not spend one time get a good Crumpler bag and it will last you for years with all kinds of abuse. Unless you are the kind who buys a new bag every year just so it is in fashion or just so it is a new bag ( I know of people like this ).

My Cumpler 7 million went thru so much with me, water, sand, snow, and still going strong.

Lowepro also not bad but their design very boring.
