Hello people!

I will need to get a new laptop for myself! I will use it for editing photo (photoshop) and some web design work (dreamweaver). i don't play games so Mac is fine for me! I just need something that can last atleast 3years? I personally prefer Mac..

I want to hear your opinion!

thanks

wait for Macworld, Jan 15th... rumour has it that new Apple notebooks may be announced.

Mac is the choice. they are the BEST to do Desktop Publishing. If you need PC. Install Bootcamp

mac only because you'll love the screen and the ease of use. u dun have to wait for 15th jan unless you're looking into a sub-notebook- which is lighter but wun have as much storage space and processing power..

I'd go for a Mac.

works wonderfully for me. although I don't do much photo editing, I do do my assignments on the Mac.

whilst doing them, about 12 to 15 instances/windows of Adobe Acrobat PDF files will be opened, along with two or three instances/windows of Microsoft Word for Mac, and Firefox with goodness knows how many tabs opened as well. no significant slowing down of the processing speed of the computer, and that was when I was still armed with 1GB ram. I can't wait for the new semester to start, if only to see how my upgraded 2GB ram Mac would work against the horrendous amounts of windows I open.

that being said, I am using the MBP 17" 2.16 though, so that could also explain why. :p

As long as my current Win XP works, my PS works, I dun see the need to hop to a different luxury item for now. The potential unparalleled variety and diversity of apps for Windows platfom is something i am not willing to trade from the pull factors that Mac provides.

:) Not flaming Mac. I absolutely love my ipod and my itouch.
If i got the spare cash i would love to try Mac in parallel with a WinXP laptop. Just not now.

mac.

because mac is the best laptop there is out there.

need windows? get bootcamp.

windows vista runs best on a mac. (compared to any other laptop so far)

The number 1 and ONLY reason to get a Mac is if you value time.

All other reasons eventually boil down to how much time you can save.

For your needs, a Macbook suffice.

mac mac mac!!

using 2.2ghz Core Duo, 4gig ram MBP15.1

More support with windows XP
Windows Vista is absolute a piece of sh*t

if you are forced to get a machine with Vista, then take a Mac
Jag

just to add a point, only Mac with Intel CPU can install Windows in a native mode, you get the best of both world.

whenever a friend ask me what notebook to buy, I always recommend Macbook.

mac book pro user here

very good piece of software
i think when buying MAc, u are buying the software... its really all in one, the OS itself does almost everything u need

while windows forces users to buy 3rd party software to solve problems that should not even exist in the first place...

Mac all the way..

Get a Mac!
'enuff said. :)

Mac but don't get the macbook if u can. Get the cheaper Macbook Pro.. much better quality LCD. Macbook pretty cheapie, i've got two black macbooks motherboard got busted and will cost **** to replace them...
Photoshop is a pleasure to use on the mac than windows (super easy drag and drop from anywhere) :)

Powerbook user:bsmilie:

The only concern is the heat, other than that. All works good:D

Sorry to hi-jack this thread since we are all enquiring the same thing.

I'm needing a notebook....for work. I need to surf a lot, do quite a fair bit of graphics altering and at the same time, do powerpoint, word and excel spreadsheet stuffs. I'm incline on trying a macbook (13" is big enuff for me, I have weak hands) but I dunno whether will the biz applications as easy to use as microsoft office and firefox.

Thks!
