Saw this young mum entertaining her kids- playing with bubbles outside Tanglin mall & i happened to take this photo. Couldnt capture her kids as well, background was pretty busy & she was standing up... didnt know how i could capture all.

Will like C&C on whether i have composed the shot well. Does it convey the idea that she was having fun? And does the lighting behind hints of a xmas mood? How can i improve on this shot? Noticed that when i zoomed in on her in Photoshop - the image doesnt seem that clear, so does it look okay over here?

On the technical side, i used Aperture priority mode with the following settings:
Focal Length: 135mm
Metering Mode: Spot
1/30 sec - F/5.6
Exposure Comp.: 0 EV

Thanks in advance! ;)

Take note of your background...there's a lady behind your main subject. Its rather distracting.

other than the person in the background, I think its a pretty good photo.. I like the lady's expression and the out of focus lights in the background.. of cos if it was real snow instead of just bubbles would be better, but then thats asking too much..

personally, i would have shot at a higher f stop to keep her hands in focus as well.

good job.

Hey ya all... appreciate your comments. Do realise that the background person was a problem. Anyway, also dunno how to photoshop her away. :dunno:

The f-stop thing - i think my hands may shake and cause blurring if shutter speed is compensated. I'm still using the short-cut way of Priority mode... Heh. Manual mode is still too tough for me. :embrass:
