yup, 46mm is direct fit to the lens;).but i got a setup ring from 46mm to 52mm for my +3 close up lens so might as well use a 52mm IR filter as 46mm filters kinda hard to find.

anyway read that to test if our camera can use IR, just need to use any remote control while pressing any buttons n point at the camera,if our camera can see the bulb from the remote blinking, means the camera can use the IR filter.
Tried tat n it works.

Now just have to get the IR filter to test it out.
I have a UV filter to protect my lens and dun see any effect.
Polarise filter works for me and can see the effect.

Yup, i heard from a bro he bought it at CP peni branch. U can call to enquire.

is there any1 know FZ-18 can hv external flash light? cos i cant see the place for it to mount...

How much are they selling? i saw on ebay 46mm for $42 is it ex?

from this link http://clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=223587 , there is no indicated price for a 46mm R72 IR filter. but since a 52mm cost ard $33-$37, i guess a 46mm should be cheaper.
But dan again if u cant wait to get it and $42 seems a good buy to u,y not.At the end of the day its u who is happy.:D

Just bought my camera last Sat. Price 642 + 5 ( LCD protector ) + 15 ( Hoya standard coated UV filter ). Still trying to test out and learn how to operate this camera.

It turns out the fz18 is pretty ir sensitive. The shutter speed is a little slow resulting in foliage blur, but the advanced OIS makes for handheld at 1/2s. The details and dynamic range are quite good for a small sensor.

Handheld (leaning against a tree), iso100, -1/3ev, 1/2s, f2.8, wb set to ambient light through B+W 092 ir filter (comparable to r72).

Original straight from camera resized only.

try using auto level and also more contrast, they help alot for IR images. Saturation helps as well.

Oh just wondering, does anyone know how to do the colour mixing in Macromedia Fireworks? I only see a Levels and Curves under the Filter Option. Can anyone guide me around?

Anyone sick of it can sell to me.
Better still if you got other filters such as GND as well
