One option is take the long drive down south to Albany, and work your way back up north..
Margaret River has fantastic wineyards up and down the region.. For off-peak periods, book lodging at the Information kiosk in Margaret River town itself.. Self-drive or cycle the area, take it slow.. I highly recommend the Bushtucker Tour by canoe (I prefer this to the Bushtucker Wine tour); this brings you up the river, covering about 3+hrs of local history, legend, cave or two and bushtucker (of course!)
Giant Karri Forests at Pemberton.. You can yomp round the area, exploring limestone caves, climbing up a massive karri tree used as a fire lookout post; or even try staying at a man-made trout lake.. I think the towns here are famous for woodcraft.. Can't confirm it tho'..
Dunsbourough used to be a surfers' paradise with nice beaches.. But I dun surf and last been there 10yrs ago..
Bunbury dolphin research centre.. I didn't get a chance to go there last year, but the dolphins used to come close to shore, and even swim between human waders.. I took a short dolphin cruise round the bay a few years back..
Nearer to Perth, you can pop-by Fremantle ('Freo') to enjoy the weekend festival markets..
Or even go and enjoy a day out at Rottnest Island..

hi. i went to perth in 2003.. quite sometime already.. Not sure I can help much.
You definitely need to drive.. plan from Fremantle southwards, to Busselton, to Pemberton..look thr the maps, there are interesting sights along the way to visit, or the many wineries.. then to Albany. You can find lodging along the way or if you want, book beforehand for a few nights. But, pls do research, look thr maps online and have a guage of the distances before commiting your reservation. Are you able to make it to the lodging place in time?
THen from Albany, you can drive up north east towards Hyden, for the wave rock also.
Then drive back to perth city and conclude your tour
Alternatively do it the other way round.. anyway its a circle haha. When i was at Albany, we met a family going our opposite directions so we gave each other tips what not to miss then.
Btw, I went in july.. that was a time for whale watching too. Not so sure about march though. Have fun in your planning

In perth go to King's Park and Fremantle, if you feel like shopping go to HabourTown (it's a factory outlet in town).
Drive down to Albany and spend some time there (wind farms, trekking, sightseeing). If you have kids make a short trip to Denmark from Albany to visit the Alpaca farm (can hand feed a lot of animals there, the kids will love it) and also the Tree-top walk.

Most folks go to Margaret River (Wineries), Albany (Scenery), Pinnacles (Limestone formations) etc... the nearby places...
If you're a little more adventurous, you might want to try Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Geraldton, Monkey Mia, ExMouth etc... Of cos, the further North you go, the fewer Singaporeans you'd meet, the better it'll become
March I think will still be pretty warm, so be mindful, plan for some scorchers (eg 40+ degress C) if you're lucky.. otherwise should be normal hot and dry weather...

heard in March e weather will start to cool off? I wil be gg in early March before the 1 week sch holidays. so i guess wont be alot of singaporeans since its an off peak period bah.
btw any price reasonable (less than S$100) decent accomodation to recommend?

If you're really no-frills type, you can stay at the Formule-1 motel in Ascott,Perth.. sort of like Hotel-81 typed style... IIRC its abt $80+aud a night offpeak. March cool down ah? Err.. I guess it all depends on your luck la... March is just out of the Summer season, so dont expect too much. Then again, down south will be alot cooler than in Perth.
What I can say is... Do expect ALOT of FLIES... you'll grow to tolerate them alittle more when you come back home.. harhar

It's actually cheaper than renting a car and driving down. Was about A$150 for return trip, 3 course meal at a restaurant and couple of cellar tours. Really worth it.

They are GIANORMOUS!
methinks 1 week is too short for all these... mabbe skip denmark,albany and just concentrate on the margaret river side...
