i just got back from ruby and they have fuji Velvia 50!

i got a roll for my coming trip to macau! its pretty expensive though, but i hope it turns out beautiful when i print!

went to read up on it again. shot with a high qualty lens the 35mm slide can hold detail equivalent or more to a 25mp sensor. digital still has some catching up to do =)

OOU...Kodachrome 25!!!

Actually, the highest resolving (sharpest) film was Kodak's TechPan. It was a VHC Litho repo film, but if you altered the developer/development, you get a wide range of tones for pictorial use. Efective ASA was 6/12, and the film had virtually no visible grain in mega-enlargements. It also had a resolving power of 300lpi, wehreas the best pro grade lenses could never top 100lpi or somewhere around there.

Good luck finding Kodachrome as it's already discontinued more than 5 years ago. Kodachrome 64 was my favourite slide film for so many years.

Probably from the term Autochrome Lumiere, an early colour photo process.

BTW, that's the NEW 2007 Velvia 50 (some called it Velvia 50 Mk II), thus there will be more coming so no worries.

What's gone is the original launched in 1990, and 'replaced' by Velvia 100F in 2005.

P.S. Velvia is to me, world best, but only for things, not people.

hacknet, your thread is a reminder to me to use up my small stash of Velvia that I have had in my fridge for quite some time. By the way, where do you guys go to get good E6 processing nowadays? Many labs have stopped doing E6 in the past few years.
