Is there such a thing as "day rate" for commercial photography? Or is it ONLY chargeable by 'per shot'? Any seniors can advise? Thanks! :)

Hello Juliet,

There's been many questions about photography rates in this section. In short, it ranges from $1200/day to $2400/day, but it can get pretty complex and some might charge more. Here are some links you might want to check out.

i guess my confusion is a result of never hearing of 'day rates' for commercial photography. I've only heard of photogs charging by 'per shot'.

You can charge any way you want. Per shot, per print, per use, per day, per hour, etc.

It really depends on how you want to position yourself. Most importantly, you've gotta have the ownership of the copyright of those photos.

If you charge 'per shot', becareful of re-shoot.
