P-TTL flash mode only ?

For current pentax cameras K100D, K100D super and K10D with compatiable flash units like AF-360, AF540, , is P-TTL flash mode and manual mode the only options?? how about TTL and Auto (A) ?? I have gone thorugh the manuals for both the camea and flash which seems to be the case. Though i dunno about the performance of P-TTL(could be very good), but would prefer not to have a pre flash b4 the actual flash. Or is the pre flash so fast at short interval that we cannot even tell when it fires ?

My pentax will only arrived at the end of dec so i have no prior experience on this. Now im looking at the flash options on which model to buy. Mainly for fill flash, bounce off card/ceiling and must be able to swivel for protraits shots. Any advice ?

Thanks

There are not many options to meet your needs I think. Probably the Pentax 540 flash is your best choice. Sigma EF 500 DG flash is quite good too.

K10D/K100D only support P-TTL flash, non P-TTL flashes might not work well with them, but you can use manual mode if you still want to use them. As to pre-flash, I don't know the cure except properly in manual mode ...

Good luck!
