Managed to get hold of some 4w 830nm LEDs.
Due to busy schedule, looking for fellow hobbyist to partner to diy IR flash.
Should have some electronics experience and handling of soldering iron.
Will get to use first of its kind IR strobe.
Please pm if interested.
Thanks

IR LEDs...! i didn't know they made them so powerful now.

if i were you, get a 1 shot 555 and a 6v battery to pulse the gate of a mosfet. should do the trick, control the power of your flash by the on time of the 555, should be pretty fun!

ya.. got a few of them, can overdrive :)

haha want to give it a shot? ..pun intended..

got some bipolars for faster reponse..
555s dunno still have or not...
else need to go down slt lor...

can get hold of ir modded camera?

i'm not into the IR thing but certainly sounds interesting, i think mosfets are better since absolute delay in nano seconds arn't that important, more importantly is the Vce/RDSon. i've come to like mosfets in this area, especially when you start sinking bucket loads of current at low voltages.

hi guys
if u are interested to get more LEDs
do let me know, I've got a friend dealing with LEDs
maybe can get cheap cheap

how are mosfet switching loss...
may need to switch at 50 hz for videoing...
and shutter at less then 1/1000 for moving objects....

anyways can try see.. already got the TIPs..

anyone wanna try? can probably shoot 50 meters or more in the night.. with modded cam.

no one interested in being able to shoot at night 100meters away without any visible light?
