Anyone has any idea what is the normal range of salary for IT job one year experience or fresh grad? :sweatsm:
thanks guys
what u mean by working harder than a slave?
is it a lot of OT or just normal working hour but work more?
how come the salary just the same as singapore?
i thought it's more expensive to live over there?
not sure what's the normal range for IT job, but on the average for anyone fresh on the job, the pay is around 200 000 yen (before tax) which is around 2500 SGD. plus you need to work harder than a slave usually.
$2500 x 13 months(including AWS) = $32500 a year
you sure every company will give 13 months?
And another thing is, are u a very punctual person? i.e. if they say meeting is 9:00am, it means 9:00am, and they expect the projectors, slides, aircon, refreshments etc. all to be ready by 9:00am when the meeting starts.
I nearly kena sabotaged by my colleague when i worked there, we are supposed to start the meeting at 9:00am, then he still dilly dally, saying "aiya, around 9am can already la", of course in the end, when we went to the meeting, they give kinda black faces, although we started at abt 9:05am. --> So, wats ur habit in singapore?
I heard Japan corp gives 3 months bonus normally?
Negotiate of whole package carefully, e.g. accommodation allowance, medical coverage, tax subsidy, etc. These 3 can eat lots of your basic salary.
what about their weddings? do they start on time too? i really hate wedding here... can start 1 or 2 hours later than what was mentioned in the card.
you sure every company will give 13 months?
sound scary leh
i got interviewed by one japan company
well, what the company is doing is what i really interested in (of course i haven't try).
It's a mix of IT and media.
What i'm doing now is pure IT which is quite boring.
Well, i expect the pay would be reduced a bit and the expense should be increase but the job sound interesting to me.
And after training they'll base me in VN (i'm from VN) and said that they'll also adjust the pay to suit the VN market. Which i expect to be even lesser pay.
well, is it worth it to work for the job (assuming u like) with less pay?
:-s
a typical calculation for a single person living alone in tokyo starting on a totally new job ...
salary after tax = approx. 170 000 yen
rent = 50 000 yen (not so convenient location)
transport (train+walk) = 600 yen daily = 18 000 yen
food (eat cheaply) = 2000 yen daily = 60 000 yen
social events (social drinking, wedding etc.) = 20 000 yen
leftover = 22 000 yen (provided the person don't fall sick etc. ... btw medicine is cheap in japan, but to get the doctor to write an official MC can cost anywhere from 3000 yen to 9000 yen )
but usually if the person shows good performance for the first 4-6 months, he/she will get pay/position rise
erm..... 2000 yen daily for food in japan seems to be the killer leh..... i think its impossible for me to do it...
eg. those scrambled egg chicken bowl almost always 1000 yen already, then the smaller other bowls of food are around 800-900 at least le... then if we buy the drinks from vending machine = about 150-200yen a bottle/can, then if buy 2-3 bottles/can for a day = almost 500yen already..
somehow, i think i am too used to living in singapore already... i cant imagine myself staying for months in japan..
on a sidenote: the girls in tokyo are :thumbsup:
