People complained of things getting expensive. But has anyone think if we all have been overspending?

There are many ways to look at the definitions of "overspending", whatever is your definition, let's poll!

Well, there no possible way for me to "overspend" beecause I haven't gotten into debt with loansharks yet :)

if over spend is (earn < spend) then i'm not
but i'm in debt for my uni tuition fee

I spend within my means and still have some saving monthly.

It is not we over spend but with Cash in your hand, you always think of getting things which you wanted badly. I ever post a thread on recovering my Cashline but till now, still haven't done so. Why? Cause I use money like I don't need to own it n keep buying things. My meals add up, also lesser than I gamble on lottery (think of striking big!)

So, if you can control your spending, you wouldn't be overspend. Bonus coming, I bet that a lot of ppl waiting to get their hand on their wanted items for sure. For me, I just need to finish up some more furnitures n then, start saving up. From the day which I work till now, I hardly save up but spend alot.:(:embrass:

sure... the temptation is always there... even something simple like a meal.. will also overspend. $2 chye fan (mixed veg rice) will surfice, but if top up $0.50, can eat chicken rice with a bowl of soup. so i sometimes go for the latter.. feels more worth it. :bsmilie:

Nope. Plan before I spend the $$$ and when I'll roughly have the cash in hand to get that "want".

If i have that certain want - i'll do what my parents had taught me all along - work for it (be it saving/working my butt off). Only through hard work will i know how difficult it is to cough up the $ satisfy a "want"

Never ever will I ask my parents for money to purchase items and claim that "i" bought it and its mine.

fyi, i just spend $1000 alone this week paying bills and expenses

yes i do overspend

when i say overspend i mean spending more tha my weekly allowance and dipping into the bank for more cash:D

haha worked for everything that my parents deem"unneccesary" since i was 12, so i know what it is like.

sigh, i got around $900 now, anyone wanna help me with some cash so i can get my D40 dual lense kit with tripod and bag?;p

I overspend as in I set a target of $700 expenses every month, but it runs away from me occasionally.....

else, I do save about 50% of my take home pay every month

wah 50% pei fu u :) ... thats what I target too but but .... haiz haha ... end of year still thinking of holiday...

There was an article in the New York Times about saving money; had tips about how you should make your own coffee, rather than getting from Starbucks.

Myself, I try to save at least $1k a month. But hasn't been possible lately ;) But still try to save some lah.

How you define overspend?
Not spending within your means?
Or overspent but still managed to save some?

chicken rice got soup 1 ar... damnit... always deprived of it..

but then again, it must be those msg infested soup...

$ really the temptation of overspending. With a new CC with me, I almost makes a purchase of $300 without thinking much. But from previous experience, I stop myself from overspending even the bonus is coming. ;p

Give u an example. I budgeted $3 for lunch, but the tempting otar makes me overspent by $0.50. So I paid $3.50 for lunch instead! :bsmilie:
