I was there just now to collect my Clubsnap decal.
Sigma and Tamron were there in force but except for Canon, all the other cameras were missing. Strange.
In anycase, the hall was only half filled. They could have just booked one hall instead.

BTW, I checked with Tamron and the 18-250 for Pentax mount is now available at CP and AP but the retail prices of the stuff are scary. I must say the Tamron guy is quite helpful though. It actually seemed he cared about the performance. There was also a HK company manned by friendly mainland chinese staff who were selling LCD hoods and battery grips but alas...all for Nikon and Canon only. I asked her to think about Pentax stuff too..she smiled.

But if you want to know what a high zoom sigma lens looks like, pop by.
But be warned if you coming from Marina Square, you need to go to level 1 to register before can go to level 6. I was asked after climbing all the steps to go downstairs to register!

I did not have my cam with me but quite a few photographers from the dark side werebusy snapping photos. Did not see any Pentax and O stuff....

Official price at the exhibition is $840. I made a mistake!
Its the official sigma prices that was scary, not the Tamron ones....In fact $840 is pretty decent to me. The Tamron guy was also trying to show me the 28-300mm stablised lens.
I told him Pentax does not need them because of our stablised CCD but nonetheless, I did pont the test camera (A Dark Side model) at a dark place at 300mm position and the image came out fairly good.

BTW, they were giving away free Sigma and Tamron catalogs...so don't miss the event!

Actually the Pentax DA18-250 is only priced at 500USD, probably a better deal if we buy from the US. I know Amazon got it in stock already, maybe someone can start a mass order or something

BTW, Amazon does not have stock yet. They are accepting pre-orders only but have no idea when it will actually ship. Not sure if the delay is related to the Hoya announcement. Pentax website said it should be available by Oct 07 but they have misse that date.
