hello peepz...juz wondering if theres anyone can gv some tips on creating pano shots...tks c",)

Hi mothballmerc

You can make panos as long as you have a series of shots with overlap ( usually i make about 20% overlap ) . Softwares such as photomerge function in PS can merge for ya and correct the distortions reasonably well. *But be sure you remove any pol filters, and your white balance and stuffs constant, basically all else constant for all pieces.

The stitch might get a little less than perfect with moving items in your pan such as people walking, clouds, water. ( i had my fair share of misalignments because of that. but also with some luck at times )

E.g
KS9.jpg

* with a faster shutter speed freezing the water motion, i am bound to get problems

The puritans will tell ya best results if you can anchor on a tripod and with a pan head, locate the entrance pupil fo your lens. While finding the entrance pupil of your own lens is a homework u can do before the trip, the setup was so tedious that i dropped the idea after attempting it in Europe.

Alternatively you can get a shift lens to stitch

You can check with Hazmee.
He has some really impressive pan shots that i would love to learn too

constant ISO, shutter speed, aperture, try not to use auto WB, overlap around 30%, shoot verticals and mount on a tripod. best to have an L-bracket

personally, ive had some really bad experiences with photomerge in photoshop CS2, and if ur shots arent perfect, its not easy to merge
i use a $100 software, and i find it wonderful. compensates for all the flaws in brightness falloff, barrel distortion and sharpening too

The Photomerge in CS2 was horrible. I tried on my workplace copy and i got abit frustrated.
But CS3 works great.

Hi 2.8photography, out of curiosity what 100 bucks software you referring to ?
