Places of interest in Brisbane

Hi bro/sis,

I going on a 5 day business trip to Brisbane next week.

Will have about 2 days free and easy.Any bro/sis been there or studied there can recommend me places that i can go?Shopping or historic places i also dont mind.

I will be staying at Queen Street,believe it should be in the city.

do u intend to drive or hang around in the city?

for the city, u can walk to eagle street pier, on weekends they have markets there. botanic gardens is also in the city, as well as the treasury casino. all these are walkable. from queen street mall.

simple lah... when most of the shops in the city are closed and you are feeling real bored at home... the casino welcomes you with open doors :bsmilie:

and once you're hook... it's not a good thing (unless you win all the time lah) :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Oh i see...Haha..I get what you mean now.

Its within walking distance from Queen Street?For me should be ok,cos i very stingy.Haha,Casino wont like pple like me.Once i win abit i will go off liao.:bsmilie:

generally if u are a regular gambler, u mainly lose more than u win.

i mean, the odds are definitely favouring the house, unless u are a full time gambler and know how to count and all that lar...

i suggest go to have a look, have a bit of fun gambling if u want but don't make it the highlight of your trip.

Brisbane river is a good spot for taking pictures if you like scenaries, just a stone throw away from queenstreet mall. You can take a bus down to Chinatown too, some pretty interesting buildings there... but you have to find out what bus cause it was 2 years ago since i was there. LoL

P.S : They have some pretty old school buildings around the city area too if you are into buildings shoot. Hope this helps

If you have 2 days free in Brisbane, that is the best time to be out of there :bsmilie:

Get a train to Beerwah, then a bus to Caloundra and walk the beaches.

Many beaches link to each other and they are all good to sea (pun).

This is of course is if you don't mind finding your way with the little information I have given.

It is, though, just that simple. Just make shure you get hold of timetables etc before you venture out.

You will always find someone that will assist you if you ask... (go to a pub and ask, go to a service station and ask, ask a policeman...etc)

The afternoon before you go, look in the phone book or, ask where you are staying to find a place to stay the night in Caloundra.

That way you are not limited by thinking you only have a few hours (that one day) to find your way back.

Or, inquire how to get to North Stradbroke Island and spend a day or two there.

I am not into Casino's or giving my money to wealthy people.

If I had 2 days free in Brisbane, it would be the last place you would find me :bsmilie:
